NEOCHRONOPHOBIQ / Emre Hüner
12 October - 11 December 2016 @ STUK, Leuven

In MOVING IMAGE EXPO, we are delighted to present the work of visual artist Emre Hüner. In his drawings, sculptures, installations and video works, Hüner explores the subjects of post-humanism and object-oriented ontology, utopia and archaeology, and ideas of time and materiality.

WE KINDLY INVITE YOU TO THE OPENING WITH INTRODUCTION BY THE ARTIST:
12 October 2016 at 19.00

Neochronophobiq - a conjunction of neo, chronophobia (fear of time) and ubiquitous - creates a fictional realm, almost an extra dimension, where the simultaneous desire for progress and absence of new technologies merge. Artefacts and rituals, architectural entities, unidentifiable topographies and the materiality of geological temporality play the lead roles in this peculiar work.

produced by Emre Hüner, Platform 0090 and Mathaf, supported by SAHA

DO BOOMERANGS ALWAYS COME BACK? / Ergin Cavusoglu
28 August – 2 October 2016 @ Castle d'Aspremont-Lynden, Oud-Rekem

Platform 0090
was mainproducer of the film Desire Lines/Tarot & Chess of Ergin Cavusoglu that now can bee seen in the exhibition "Do Boomerangs Always Come Back”?

The boomerang is a swinging metaphor on the relationship between art, the artist and the audience. Is it the artist who throws a boomerang at the viewer with his werk? Does the work cast - once moulded and thrown - its brutal existence in the face of the creator? Does the viewer hurl his or her questions back at the object? Or is it all this - and much more? A universe of actions and reactions: confusing, mad, enlightening, engrossing and rebellious, nihilistic and all-embracing, dead silent and deafening?

ARTISTS: Atousa Bandeh, Melanie Bonajo, Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Ergin Cavusoglu, Tony Cragg, David Czupryn, Ella De Burca, Paul Drissen, Elias Ghekiere, Gluklya, Hetty Huisman, Nikita Kadan, Ola Lanko, Oleg Matrokhin, Milena Milosavljevic, Hilde Overbergh, Hyesoo Park, Stefan Peters, Miguel Angel Rios, Stéphanie Saadé, Lydia Schouten, Hanne Van Dyck, Stephen Willats, Gaston Wuestenbergs
