EVOLVING SPACES / Erki De Vries -
Pieter Huybrechts 25 March - 4 April 2017 @ Cultuur Centrum,
Mechelen
Evolving Spaces is a new
chapter in the BookProject that Erki De Vries and Pieter Huybrechts
have worked on since 2012. At CC Mechelen, their exhibit will be on
a considerably larger scale than before. The project consists of
several stages resulting in a series of sculptures incorporated into
the installation, as well as the presentation of a sculpture as a
book at the finissage. Installation and photography are joined as
two undulated forces, developed on-site according to the space at CC
Mechelen. In their collaboration, De Vries and Huybrechts
transcend the limits of realism. By mapping the photographic image
in different layers, they create a new physical space. The tactile
feel of the photographic image gives an

NEOCHRONOPHOBIQ / Emre Hüner
29 March - 30 April 2017 @ Protocinema, New York,
USA
Protocinema presents Emre
Hüner’s Neochronophobiq, 2015, a three-channel video
that explores the idea of perception of time
through fictive artifacts and architectural
entities. Neochronophobiq - a conjunction of neo, chronophobia
(fear of time) and ubiquitous - creates a fictional realm, almost an
extra dimension, where the simultaneous desire for progress and
absence of new technologies merge.
Artefacts and
rituals, architectural entities, unidentifiable topographies and the
materiality of geological temporality play the lead roles in this
peculiar work. production Emre Hüner

VOICING PIECES / Begüm
ERCIYAS 31 March - 2 April 2017 @ PACT Zollverein, Essen,
Germany
The protagonist in Voicing
Pieces, is the visitor’s own voice. In the intimacy of an isolated
sound booth, guided by a simple score, the act of speaking and
simultaneously hearing one’s own voice turns into a theatrical and
choreographic experience, sculpted anew with each individual
interpretation of the score. The voice becomes a place for action, a
spectacle or a surprise.
Does one’s own voice
always sound unauthentic and strange? Who is speaking when one’s own
voice speaks? Rather than recognizing oneself in the stranger,
Voicing Pieces, is an invitation to recognize the stranger in
oneself.

Fellow man! Your whole life, like a
