the photographer left, they told the truth

PRODUCTION

The photographer left, they told the truth. A triptych of live installations - BOX, HAND and PRINT - where images never stand still.

Charlotte Bouckaert brings photography and performance together in a playful reflection on seeing and imagining. What happens when a photograph transforms before your eyes? When the presence of a performer, a spectator, and the interplay of print and projection keep an image in motion?

This work invites you not only to look at a picture, but to experience the process behind it.

Presented at Museum M (Leuven), Kunsthal (Gent) and De Ververij (Ronse) - and, for the first time as a complete triptych, at Beyond the Black Box festival, De Brakke Grond, Amsterdam (2026).

I BOX

A silent exchange unfolds between viewer and unseen performer, as images appear and fade in a continuous flow.

HAND

A still image is never still. Forms shift and transform, questioning whether an image can ever truly come to rest.

I PRINT

What happens when printed photographs collide with live images? Past and present converge in a layered visual encounter.
