I SYMBIOSIS
an investigation
A biologist has made a disturbing discovery.
He invites a small audience to witness his investigation into aliens, biology and rare encounters.
In the lecture performance Symbiosis, scientific research and personal obsession slide into one another. Stories of UFO sightings, forbidden ideas and strange orchids start to resonate in unexpected ways. The biologist follows these connections, not entirely sure whether he is uncovering a pattern or inventing one.
At the heart of his discovery lies a radical hypothesis about the origin of complex life: Lynn Margulis’ theory of endosymbiosis. An idea that was ridiculed for decades and drove those who pursued it toward isolation, paranoia, and worse.
Symbiosis unfolds as a lecture that gradually mutates into a speculative journey through scientific discovery, ecological entanglement and the unorthodox view that life evolves not through competition, but through intimacy.
