The Image Generator is a happening that explores the interplay between performance, sound art and visual art. Instead of considering these disciplines as separate art forms, we highlight artistic practices in which image, sound and action influence each other mutually. The live encounter between these practices and disciplines generates a flow of new possibilities, approaches and experiences. It not only provides a rich breeding ground for new and pioneering art forms, but also creates a platform for a more direct and reciprocal exchange in which the spectator is involved with all his senses.
Because of the possibility that a happening offers to interact with each other, the work of art is presented as an event: because this exchange continually generates new images and perspectives, in which we can encounter each other. In this sense, 'The Image Generator' reminds us that an image is not a given but a verb, and that no reality is completely fixed.
